Our Model Railway Club

A proud member of the Wessex Association of Model Railway Clubs

Our Club

The Club was founded in 1976 with the aim of furthering the model railway hobby within the local area.   This is still the case today.

Since our early beginnings in rooms above a shop in Burnham town centre, the club now has permanent rooms in the community centre.

We organise two exhibitions each year. Our home turf show being Sedgemoor Rail, normally held over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The other is in Weston-Super-Mare in January.

We cater for the main gauges, N gauge, OO gauge and O gauge, but other gauges are welcome!

 We also attend and exhibit at exhibitions large and small, far and wide, developing links with many surrounding Model Railway Clubs.

The Club Rooms

The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Community Centre, Berrow Road, Burnham-on-Sea TA8 2ET from 7.00pm where we have our own club rooms on the first floor.

New members are most welcome. Please contact our Secretary Richard Traxler if you would like to have a tour of our club rooms and get to see what we are working on.

Plans for 2023 include;

  • Continuing work on the recently acquired OO layout
  • Continue work on a new N gauge modular layout Cheddarton
